Glass recycles forever.

History

Collectable glass had been part of the Stenberg Corporation’s operations from the early 1980’s onwards. At first only float glass was used in the production of glass wool and the float glass was crushed with the company’s stone-crushing machinery. After a while bottle glass was also processed. Soon there were problems with impurities, when it became necessary to build a specialized, more efficient glass recycling facility. The use of glass expanded into new areas.

Suomen Uusioaines Ltd. continued on from the Stenberg Corporation’s pioneering work in 1995. In April 2009 the company name was shortened to Uusioaines Oy.

In November 2018 Uusiaines ltd got new owners, Partnera Ltd (58 % ownership share)  and Tesi Ltd (Finnish Industry Investment Ltd 30 %). Jarkis Ltd, old owner, is still minority stakeholder in Uusioaines.
In June 2019 Uusioaines’ Parent Company Partnera Glass Recycling (PGR) bought Swedish foam glass manufacturer Hasopor AB. Uusioaines and Hasopor together form Europe’s leading foam glass manufacturer.
1.1.2020 Parent company name changed to Foamit Group Ltd.
